It amazes me that Kishimoto showed us Obito for the first time in Vol. 2, chap. 16. It really is mind-blowing.

  1. I keep saying Team Minato/Team 7 mirroring eachother plot is the most developed in the whole story (along with Itachi’s). The amount of attention given to details is astonishing, besides foreshadowing since the beginning of the story, there’s the methaphor of Minato, who, for all his speed was always late, the bridge metaphor (Obito’s mission involves destroying a bridge = destroys the bridge to peace = becomes a villain
Naruto’s mission involves building a bridge = builds the bridge to peace = becomes a hero), Obito and Kakashi being the only characters to actually struggle with mental health – Obito becoming a nihilist with multiple personality and Kakashi loathing in self-blame and lack of self-respect, the metaphor of Obito’s Kamui ability (running away from reality), the reveal and Kakashi’s shock, the resolve, everything was brilliant. Honestly, Kakashi’s and Obito’s character arc conclusions were the only thing that I constantly liked throughout the war arc.

  2. Obito is one of the best written character in the show. His character arc was amazing, some people just cant’t accept the fact that not every character was meant to be liked.
Crazy how Naruto’s (and team 7’s) journey as ninja starts with his words (‘.. worse than scum” speech) which also foreshadows that Naruto will never abandon Sasuke. The paralells between Team Minato and Team Kakashi is just peak writing.
