Echiro oda the creator of one piece (prob spelt that wrong) and kishimoto the creator of naruto (if you didn’t know) are good friends and even make references to each others work in their own so why is their so much hate between the two fanbases.

I’ve never met a Naruto fan who *hates* One Piece.

I love both One Piece and Naruto. I don’t compare series and characters from the two so I’m able to enjoy it.

I like One Piece, a little over 200 episodes in, fans I know in real life are cool and normal but online OP fans are annoying when they try to invalidate other people’s favorite anime and say One Piece is peak fiction with the best writing ever and everything else is subpar; very annoying elitists.

I like One Piece a good deal. I’m caught up in the manga. However, it can drive one mad how many fans of the series tend to ignore every flaw. They act as if it is the greatest work of fiction ever created. I think that is a colossal stretch. Sometimes it just gets aggravating.
The recent Wano arc almost made me drop the series completely. It was a train wreck. I’m still in disbelief. And yet One Piece fans were in literal tears praising its brilliance. I’m starting to wonder if mass psychosis can be attributed to this phenomenon. (I’m joking).
It seems like a lot of Shonen fans (especially Dragon Ball and Naruto fans) have a hard time understanding that you can enjoy multiple works of fiction lmao.
A lot of OP fans shit on Naruto. I like both, but prefer Naruto.

Because apparently one has to be “peak” or “the goat” and there is no in between, not to mention they have only watched one or the other. New anime fans won’t know what to do with themselves if their favorite show isn’t the greatest piece of fiction to ever exist.
That’s just how anime culture is. I love all the big three but I can still find obnoxious fans from each fanbase
Shitty fans are much louder than normal fans, don’t let the vocal assholes cloud your opinion about an entire fanbase

idk if this is biased as a naruto fan but one piece fans are a bunch of shit talkers ngl, they feel that just cause one piece is the most watched anime (which it sucks cuz of pacing, auras, etc) that it’s superior. And the manga is meh, my biggest issue is that, and Oda said this himself, he only has the ending of One Piece in mind, the rest of the story he weaves and makes as he goes which isn’t bad but does that mean that the other arcs won’t connect? he also said that u could start One Piece after Wano and you’d still be good, like does the rest not matter? idk.

One Piece fans on Twitter have a habit of picking random OP moments and loudly proclaiming, “THIS IS MORE ICONIC THAN GOKU GOING SUPER SAIYAN” or obnoxious bait like that.
They’re just, really gross and annoying, like the Snyder Cult.

Naruto used to be at No.1 for me
But after Watching One Piece and the Amount of Storytelling/Building also even after 25 years there is so much Mystery Even we don’t know much about Luffy’s past.
It has became my most favourite.
What i hate most about Naruto is Unnecessarily Streched Storyline.
And the Fcking fillers.
Be honest , If there weren’t any fillers Naruto and Naruto shippuden would’ve been done in 400 episodes.
I don’t hate One Piece at all, it’s just not for me.
In my opinion:
I don’t care for the art-style. A lot of the characters that are supposed to look cool look more goofy to me. I also sometimes have trouble following what’s happening in the manga, in action scenes especially.
So many characters have ”catch phrases” that it ends up getting pretty annoying pretty quickly. Like they have a speech impediment where they have to end every single line with a certain word.
The anime moves at a snails pace. Any anime based on a manga that releases weekly is eventually gonna catch up. Instead of doing filler arcs to let the manga get ahead again the One Piece anime draws out each episode instead. (On average Naruto/Bleach etc. Covers I’d say 3 chapters per episode. There are episodes of One Piece that cover just a single chapter or less). Though for people who really hate filler arcs I guess this could be a positive.
I think those are my main gripes. Again, I do not hate it or even dislike it. It’s just not for me.

I don’t dislike it. I saw some episodes when I was a kid and liked. I find it annoying that whenever I say that I love Naruto they tell me to watch One Piece because it’s way better.
Ehm no, I don’t want to watch 1000+ Episodes Anime. But beside that, I like the story of one piece.
Because people have different opinions, likes, and dislikes, and it’s human nature to have different interests and topics of appeal?
As a fan of both , actually it’s mainly bcz of powerscaling and twitter users ( for both fanbases ). Both shows are great.
I dislike it cause I can’t get past the manga artwork, and for shonen, I prefer manga over anime.

I don’t hate one piece…. I hate its anime adaptation.. it has worst pacing.
I just dont like one piece lol. I found the first season to be pretty cool and loved the concept but it just got weird and whimsical which made me lose interest.
The division is artificially sparked by baiting for engagements in bad faith.
