Ewww… Why would you discouraged your child from being multilingual? Does this person intend to never let their child out of America?? Or if they do visit other countries, demand citizens of those nations to only speak English? Or are they visiting countries that speak English only? And as far as I know, unless it’s changed recently, the US does not have an official language though English is primarily used. But honestly, as an American, I think they should be speaking one of the Native American languages to be authentic.
