It’s time the DoD addresses this. u/doriangreat went on tiktok live and within 5 minutes saw over 50 streams of military members in uniform. Basic OPSEC.

  1. Holy crap there’s a table on the board behind the one guy. Is that some kind of duty roster?!

Never in the military myself, but my father is ex-military who worked in a big mirrored building on Fort Meade before you were allowed to say what that building was, and years later I fixed copiers in DC government buildings of various security levels.
Even I would think that’s a huge fuckup.

  2. Something tells me these guys are reservist. I could be wrong it happens often. I just don’t see fully active duty doing this. If they are active they are at the bottom of the totem pole.

  3. There are a lot of people in here that clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. Good luck extracting any kind of valuable intelligence out of conventional troops on TikTok.

The military is well aware that it’s presence on social media helps with recruiting. If this weren’t the case almost every command wouldn’t have Faceboook or Instagram pages. You’d get far more useful information by looking at those, aircraft tail numbers, troop names with faces (often posted without their consent), training activities, locations of key structures on base.

Them having a Chinese spyware app on their phone and probably making a fool out of themself for clout though… yeah I’m not down with that.

  4. You’re acting like this isn’t them attempting to up those recruiting numbers. I’m sure some of them were just doing it for fun, but this many of them doing it is no coincidence.
