  1. It’s not a hill I’d die, but it is possible that it would minimize a hospitable environment for pathogens if someone is actively breathing vodka fumes while in the vicinity of airborne viruses! So very reckless to put such an idea on Twitter, tho.

  2. Or maybe his 3 friends got it but just had asymptomatic cases. He never says if the 3 friends actually got tested to confirm they didn’t have it, or if it was just assumed they didn’t have it because they never felt sick.

  3. >I was with 3 other people and __*right beside me* the man had it__

I mean… I’m no logic scholar like our teetotaler here, but this seems just as, if not more, plausible a reason the friends didn’t get it than draining vodka crans all flight. Not that I blame them, tho. When I was a drinker, vodka always tasted better on a plane for some reason.

  4. This is just a whole mountain of bullshit. During Covid lockdowns the sale and intake of alcohol increased around the world. People in my home country disobeyed rules and visited nightclubs and bars, or weddings where there is typically huge amounts of alcohol consumed. There were many reported cases coming out of those events. Even though this is anecdotal, I don’t believe that there is any peer tested research supporting this person’s point.

  5. Vodkas gonna kill off any bacteria or viruses that could build up in your mouth or throat.
Doesn’t seem like such a stretch to believe that it could be preventative seeing as the test consists of a swab to the back of the mouth.

  6. Actually there is some truth to this is. Had the public health nurse tell me to give my toddler red wine and ginger ale after he drank swamp water at a campground. I was horrified. Nurse laughed a bunch and spoke of centuries where alcohol was the only medicine
