Earn enough money to buy a coffee house, register a brand and then manage it well enough to buy as many coffee shops and sell as many lattes as *name a company* and you’ll quickly find out why the ceo of *name a company* feels like they’ve earned a yacht and feels okay with paying people who haven’t done any of that 15$ an hour
I say this constantly; My 4$ coffee is not making or breaking me securing permanent housing BECAUSE I CAN’T MEET INCOME REQUIREMENTS. I’m on a fixed income and ALL ‘low-income’ housing around us either has a 6+ month wait list or starts at over $700 per month for a studio. My grant covers just over $600.
A latte costs around 7 dollars assuming you buy a somewhat fancy one. 7 x 30 = $210 dollars, which isn’t even a quarter of what rent costs, even if you went without one the entire month.
I listed this same question on another subreddit , and someone responded ,” he’s your boss, not your daddy . Go find another job if you’re not happy .”
Dude probably bitches why people are too lazy to work and sponging off stimulus checks .
I’m amazed people at work would buy 3 coffees at a coffee shop every day, and but lunch. Then they complained they didn’t get paid enough. These add up. Here, it costs at least $25 a day. Multiply that by 220 working days and it’s $5,500 a year.
I always brought everything for the day, rarely spending money out. I had money to spend on other things.
We all know u need 5 million dollar yachts , and 5 mansions… how can u live life without them
It’s more like “If you pay your lobbyists a living wage, you don’t have to pay taxes”
it seems like you’re avoiding selling your yacht to pay your workers.
/s
Or “if you can’t pay your employees a living wage and still make a profit, your business model sucks.”
I feel that both options should be on the table
Because the rich have always shoved the blame onto the poor as to why they *are* poor, instead of taking responsibility for it.
God forbid a human wants something to be able to enjoy life like a £2 drink every morning just to cope through the day ????♂️
Pfft one of the peons thinking they are people again.
Because you should focus on the things you can control, not hope that a billionaire has a conscience.
BUT I NEED MY STARBS AND AVO TOAST OR ELSE ILL BE LIKE THE REGULAR PEOPLE ????

I started buying carton coffee.
Is it bad? No.
Does it bring me happiness? No.

Employers: who says I have to pay a living wage?
Seriously there are no pressures on employers at the moment to do this.
Where are they supposed to land their helicopters then ? Duh.
Avocado toast is cheap as hell if you smoosh the avocado yourself and spread it.
I eat it every morning almost it’s like 11 bucks for the whole month.
More like 5 tho next spring when this avocado tree starts producing
Quote the “no no she’s got a point” meme. I think the lady is on to an idea that’s very reasonable.
If you are using wages to buy an $8 latte, it doesn’t matter what they pay you, you’ll still be broke because you are buying stupid shit.
That’s $2,500 a year you are blowing at Starbucks for fuck-all.

People buy avocado toast to throw up and stay skinny.
emily clearly didn’t pay attention in economics 101
