This isn’t difficult. Multiplication first, then addition. Didn’t people go to school? Or did they go to school, but thought it was more important to be popular with children, than smart in a world of adults?
I only know the answer is 10 because my husband had to explain order of operations to me. I’m sure I learned it in school at some point and just deleted it as it never got used and was taking up space on my hard drive. Much like the solar system
PEMDAS is stupid and has no practical use in the real world.
The equation should be done left to right, because that’s how we read things, but leave it to the school system to take something that should be simple, and complicate it.

Addition +
Subtraction –
You do 2 x 4 makes 8 then you do addition so 8+2 to make 10
2 +2 x 4 = 10
(2 + 2) x 4 =16
Remember most people just need to add and subtract to deal with money.

I can see how someone could get 16 if they forgot the order of operations. I can’t see how anyone can get 13, 14, or 15 out of this.
