I think Marco would know enough to run away when things started looking bad for him and regroup to formulate a plan. Ace is more driven by emotion. But if they were enclosed in a dome so Marco couldn’t retreat I would give it to BB
Blackbeard is one of the worst match ups for Marco. Someone like Ace who could actually attack from a distance was actually better off.
Blackbeard. Marco’s devil fruit ability is a key part of his fighting style and ultimately his main strength. Teach can negate this and from what Ace said when he got hit by Blackbeard, he’s going to be taking some heavy damaging blows that he would usually be able to shrug of due to his regen
I’m still going with BB. Shanks knows he’s dangerous, he wouldn’t give a fuck about BB and his schemes if he didn’t have the strength to back it up.
He’s just clumsy and like to talk shit but that doesn’t mean he’s weak. He can just trade blows with Marco (vortex, sucking him in and taking away his phoenix form) and win. BB’s physical strength is insane, Ace is tough guy who fought Jimbei for 5 days yet he nearly broke Ace neck with just a chop.
Can BB cancel zoans? Maybe that’s his foil in he can’t revert zoan forms. Maybe stop their special abilities in their forms but I doubt he could force someone out. Been trying to find an example of where he forced a zoan out of their beast forms but can’t. Maybe it already happen. The wiki’s say his power effects zoans but not how.
Marco is more experienced than Ace and maybe that would have helped. But the Darkness fruit is a big advantage over DF users. I’d still go with BB.

Can’t believe how many people believe Marco has a significant chance. Only way Marco wins is if there is a previously unknown interaction of his weird flames with the darkness ability. On a positive note, BB can’t stop Marco from leaving the fight if he decides to.
Pre marineford BB could still negate devil fruits. The dude was one hell of a tank though he didn’t seem like it. He could take quake punches and ace’s named fire abilities to the face and brush it off (after basking in the pain ofc).
Pre devil fruit BB could scar shanks physically and mentally (that is one hell of a feat considering conquerors haki users aren’t portrayed to be intimidated easily by anyone or anything).
The thing with Marco is that he’s basically invincible unless someone neutralizes his fruit. Blackbeard has shown the ability to do exactly that, so all he would really have to do is grab him with one hand, neutralize his power, and shoot him with the other hand.
Blackbeard. Bb tanked an enraged quake from WB to the FACE and was completely fine (he was obviously hurt because of the double pain but he wasn’t injured much). There’s really nothing Marco can do to take down BB. Not to mention, BB scarred Shanks even before getting the Yami yami no mi.
Blackbeard, he can just cancel the devil fruit and then beat him with haki and physical strength. His physical strength was even above ace’s
dude BB tanked WB attack and again after that he tanked sengoku attack again and again. So he is f**king tank dude.
To anyone who thinks Marco’s devil fruit and his experiences will be totally useless against BB let me ask you this question, how will Luffy beat BB then?
Blackbeard, a guy who can scar Shanks, plan to take his devil fruit before even joining the WB pirates, and to think he found a way to steal devil fruit powers and seemingly mastered the quake power instantly, he is without a doubt deserving of his Yonko rank, taking Whitebeard’s fruit power just made it faster. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blackbeard already thought of ways to beat each WB commander like Batman and the Justice League.
I think Blackbeard due to devil fruit advantage would win but at the same time I think Marco more well rounded at the time and could defeat opponents Blackbeard couldn’t
Ace kinda cancelled out Blackbeard and barely lost and that’s not even counting the fact ace is far younger and less experienced
I have to wonder if Ace knew how to use Haki since he always seemed too dependent on his DF however I think one hugely important factor is Marco’s experience and Ace’s stubbornness.
In my opinion Ace was too straightforward with his fight and ending it with a full on destructive attack against the guy that can literally consume everything seemed like a poor choice, Marco has shown us to be at the very least more calm than Ace and I believe he could’ve come up with an effective strategy against Blackbeard since he has known him for even longer, however Blackbeard is a force to be reckoned with even before getting the Gura Gura no Mi and I believe it would be a close battle, we still don’t know much about his darkness fruit but I wouldn’t sleep on Marco as well, I think it would’ve been an even better match.
Marco. Haki and experience take the Edge here, also Marco’s mobility Is Key to evading attacks. In this Battle marco has shown also ranged attacks and an ability to control his Power beyond imagination. I go with Marco, even tough It wouldn’t be an Easy fight

Would pre quake fruit BB be able to beat Vergo tho?
Hard to say, depends on if marco could evade the pulling in effect because if blackbeard can touch him he could negate marcos regeneration, i would say that blackbeards darkness fruit was a main factor against marco during the payback war, although the quake fruit definitely helped as well but with quake out of the picture im not sure who would win
If Marco has decent physical strength he can strike Teach on close up when he gets sucked in and his DF is negated. Like what Shirohige did.
BB would’ve won. Though Marco would’ve fled when he saw it was a lost match.
I’d say Blackbeard because of the negating powers his fruit grants him, but I don’t think he does this easily.
He beat Ace, I think he survives Marco.
It’s tough to say. I’d like to think Marco but luck does seem to be on that fat asshole’s side

Difficult to say – this comes down to a fistfight, and both characters are only vaguely stated to be physically powerful.
Still, I give it to Marco.
Two things – Marco is WB #1 commander *despite* having a fruit that is solely for support and defense; that implies he packs a serious punch in CQC, together with powerful Haki.
Blackbeards nullification of DF only works if he maintains contact. Blackbeard is not going to oneshot Marco, so unless he also drains his stamina or whatever the healing ability is running on, Marco should be able to heal by simply backing off for a bit.
This is a poor matchup for Marco since he heavily relies on his Devil Fruit and he doesn’t hit super hard so I’d say he would lose but he would probably flee before he was beaten
