The redesign gets rid of its intended nature, to be a knife, with a blade. You can’t stab with that dart, you can’t block an attack with that dart. Why would you want to throw your only knife?
The redesign both can’t garden and can’t be used close range because of the arrow fletching so all I all it’s completely useless other than for throwing and even then that’s just more counterweight.
