so I have a question, I am just now watching Shippuden and Itachi just died, which I knew was coming but I remember hearing allot of people talk about in the past, if Itachi never died he would have become stronger then Madara ? I know how powerful Madara is, but is there any truth to this or no?
I think that Edo Itachi, who got no stamina problems and the likes, may be considered as an approximation of “Itachi’s strength if he wasn’t sick”.
And from what we saw there, while there’s no denying that Itachi is powerful, Madara is miles beyond Itachi. I don’t think Itachi would’ve overcome such gap.
Sure, Itachi completed the Forest of Death in his Chūnin Exams solo as a kid, but Madara by that time was already fighting real battles, and killed several adult Senju before he had awakened his Sharingan.
How do you know “Madara’s power” when you are at this point of the series?
He would not have become as strong as or stronger than Madara nor did he desire to.
Itachi has like three solid win-conditions to kill Madara with. If he can connect with a Totsuka Blade, Tsukuyomi, or Izanami, it’s lights out Madara. Madara is strong but he’s not invincible, and he’s ironically the perfect candidate for having Izanami used against him.

I mean there’s two ways to answer this question. If you mean how much stronger itachi would have been if he didn’t die against sasuke then no, he would never come close to madara. However, if you mean how strong itachi would’ve been, say if he never caught the disease and obtained an EMS, then he would definitely surpass madara. Sasuke has a large chakra pool due to him being a reincarnation as well.
They also as far as I understand, have more durability and stamina as well .

No, Itachi even if you take away his deathly illness still suffers from the side effects of overusing his Mangekyo and because it’s doubtful that he would try and kill Sasuke to take his eyes he will inevitably go blind

nope,(spoiler alert) compared to madara, itachi was weak. madara was able to use full susano and make 25 clones all using it, while itachi could barely use torso susano, while itachi did have his genjutsu and sealing blade over madara, genjutsu doesnt get him far in battle and he can barely manage to use his sealing sword.
if he somehow obtains the EMS and fully develops his susanoo and wasn’t sick then maybe hed compare to valley of the end madara. Any other version of madara is unattainable b/c they had rinnegan and other shenanigans related to being incarnations
Its a really big maybe. Its not completely impossible but he was a genius with some of the most broken abilities in the series. If he has dedicated his life to becoming as powerful as he could or if his goals had required him to become as strong as he could and he managed to get ems, cure his sickness and train to full extent of his abilities he would have been basically unbeatable. But Madara level in terms of power? In my opinion probably not. But I would say he could have been as much if not even more dangerous
Itachi cannot become stronger than Madara or Sasuke naturally. Itachi, although incredibly strong—stronger than most Uchiha—he still lacks the potential of Indra’s reincarnates. However, he could beat Madara in a fight due to his hax.

but Madara is built different, there is a reason and u will know about this later, but a normal uchiha member with MS like Itachi or Shisui have no chance of reaching his level
Even if u give healthy Itachi an EMS and some Hashirama cells he still wont be able to pull a perfect susanoo, without this he have no chance to beat EMS Madara

It’s only foreseeable IF he took Sasukes eyes, had no illness, and unlocked perfect susanoo as an adult. And even then idk if he would beat EMS Madara. But I will say one thing: his perfect susanoo with the yata mirror and totsuka blade would be pure insanity. High dif for sure

Itachi may be a cool Character and he may be strong yes. But even if he wasnr sick he could never beat Madara. Madara is way beyond Itachi. And many fans make Itachi look way stronger than he actually is. He is strong yes but he could never beat Madara

It’s not impossible that itachi without a sickness and without a need to be a spy couldn’t grow to that level though, he’s one of the greatest prodigies the leaf had ever known and with a full life? Who knows how strong he could have been. But itachi wasn’t designed to be someone that survives so it’s incredibly difficult to hypothesize how strong he would have grown to be
