This was one of the most underrated scenes in the anime/manga. This proves that Naruto is in no way shape or form “vastly” superior to Sasuke.
Naruto quite literally used his strongest form just to block Sasuke’s Fireball, which is one of the weakest attacks in his arsenal, and had apparent difficulty in blocking it, to the point where he was gritting his teeth, and even destroyed one of Naruto’s chakra arms in the anime. Moments later, Naruto had to use his TSBs to counter Sasuke’s casual V2 Susanoo arrows.
Whereas I still think Naruto was superior in terms of overall power, it was by no means “vast”. They are relative.
Sasuke should have easily killed Naruto in this fight. Now hear me out. They are basically equals but sasuke massively outhaxxes naruto. If the show wasn’t called Naruto, during their over the clouds clash when they lauched their super attacks, Sasuke just had to swap Naruto with his own nature super rasengan and naruto would have eaten indra’s arrows to the face and his own rasengan to the back. We clearly saw sasuke doing this to both kaguya and madara so it’s totally in character yet he didn’t do it to naruto even once. This would have easily granted sasuke the kill at several points.
