Zabuza didn’t need sage mode to be awesome… the Demon of Bloody Mist is already perfect. No flashy jutsu, no overpowered kekkei genkai, just mist and silent killing.
Zabuza would need to stronger and was getting pretty close to his peak, haku on the other hand could’ve been like Gaara, if he lived, strong but not quite kage pre timeskip and the new mizukage post ts
zabuza has no kage qualities lmao. i don’t think kages groom orphans to be their “weapon”. he’s not even kage level on top of it. kakashi is trash in part 1 relative to his shippuuden self so in my headcanon zabuza scales to pre war arc and pre MS shippuuden kakashi.
also demon sage makes no sense because sages use nature energy. demons in pretty much every folklore are the opposite of natural.
He is strong, sure, but I don’t know if he would have the leadership skills necessary to be a Kage, which seems just as important as being strong. Perhaps he could be a right-hand man or bodyguard to the Mizukage like Ao.
Demon sage zabuza would be an absolute dream.
But would he make a good mizukage? No.

Zabuza had no interest in anything like that. He didn’t have the patience for sage mode either. He wouldn’t be a leader, let alone a kage.

Zabuza isnt really a leader. He could have served as like a shadowkage. For the mizukage or just try to reform the 7ninja swordsmen, but theres no way he leads the village
Zabuza was a ninja in every sense of the word. He was lethal and efficient. He had damn near beaten Kakashi in their first encounter, albeit Kakashi was also occupied with making sure Team 7 and the bridge builder were safe. Kakashi summed up Zabuza-s biggest weakness pretty clearly though, he wasn’t built for drawn out encounters. I absolutely believe he would have made a better Mizukage than Mei, but that isn’t saying much.
What Sage Mode would you have given him?
Mei is underrated as fuck. She’s actually crazy powerful. I mean she has two broken kekkei genkai and she holds her own against Madara just as long as the other Kage and survives.
He doesn’t seem the Kage type.

I guess if he had a major revelation, and decided to change his ways (also the ways of the hidden mist at that time). If he went on a vendetta about abolishing those horrible practices they used to use then maybe. He would have to have a butt ton more character development for us to really even judge this IMO.

Being a kage isn’t all about strength. He has no leadership skills nor does he have the inspiring charisma to lead. A violent rogue ninja with a dark history of murder, exploitation, and assassinations is NOT kage material anyway.
He’s also not that strong. Dude was getting outsmarted by fresh-out the academy Naruto & Sasuke and getting his ass kicked by early Part I Kakashi. Zabuza is overrated.
In a way yeah! I like Mei but zabuza was a beast!! It would be an interesting storyline if nothing else.

I love this conversation. Ever since I was a little boy Zabuza was my favorite Naruto character even if at the time he was just the villain of a single arc. I always felt like he was way stronger than the arc let on and I’m glad to see so many of you agree.
