Actually, I think the true meaning of this scene was conveyed poorly. I believe Code said this because he didn’t realize Boruto was in control. All Code knows is that Momoshiki has manifested twice before, so it makes sense he would assume it’s happening a third time. Up to that point, Boruto hadn’t said a word yet. Notice how after that panel, Boruto speaks like himself, and it shows a shocked panel of kawaki and code just observing. This indicates to me that neither Kawaki nor code realized Boruto was in control until he said that.
I think Momo knows about the poison, and will let boruto take it instead. After poison Boruto’s goals still align with momo, don’t get eaten by 10 tails, very simple. After poison ending he will have a fully incapacitated boruto and a free reign MOMO to stomp the battle against sage naruto x one eye one leg one nose sasuke.
Both Code and Kawaki initially thought Momoshiki was in control here, due to the Byakugan appearing, until Boruto spoke and told Kawaki to get back back. They realised that Momoshiki was NOT in control, nor had his consciousness even emerged.
This confuses Code, and Kawaki, even more, especially given the whole pills thing.

Cause it probably never happened to other vessels. Pretty sure Kawaki didn’t go through this because Isshiki/Jigen was alive the entire time.
