Can we talk about Shisui being the most broken character in the show? Lol has an ability that once every 10 years can auto one shot literally any character in the series including Madara,Minato,Hashirama etc Not sure about Otsustukis, not sure how Dojutsu effects them fully. Kotoamatsukami is broken, not shisui. He is pretty balanced considering he can use it once every 10 years.
Though to be honest everytime there is like some plot hole or something that feels shouldn’t be there but is there its always some fucking op technique specifically designed for that one purpose. And once the technique is used, then multiple white lies are created around it so that it feels balanced.
I swear as show progressed more, i believe the mangekyo sharingan is the ultimate dojutsu, not the rinnegan or other shitty Otsustuki dojutsus
There’s no way in hell he himself couldn’t use it more than once every 10 years. Look at Madara/Obito/Nagato and Limbo, Sasuke and Tsukuyomi. Just because they transplant the eyes doesn’t mean they get the full power. Essentially the original owner can use it best
Kotoamatsukami is an ocular Genjutsu that can be placed on you as long as your within Shisui’s sight (Meaning it doesn’t need direct eye contact like Tsukuyomi). But, if you know about it beforehand, you can try to stay out of Shisui’s sight and surprise attack him before he can get a chance to use it.
It’s a Genjutsu that makes you follow an order while not allowing you to notice that you’re under a Genjutsu (Basically it makes you believe that the order is by your own will). But it’s still a Genjutsu in the end. Your chakra becomes disrupted while under a Genjutsu. Something that Dojutsu can see. So technically, Sharingan, Byakugan, and Rinnegan users can see that there’s something wrong with their body and fix it.

Hell nah, I mean don’t get the wrong message, Shisui is cracked af but idk he could take madara, minato, or hell, he’d have a difficult time with kakashi
So on top of having an auto one shot ability that can’t be stopped lol, he had the MS since a pre teen and was more a genius than Itachi. He had a run on sight order during a ninja war as a low teen lol. He survived a surprise attack as a young teen from Danzo who like it or not is kage level and an entire group of root Anbu which has been shown to the stronger than most normal Anbu.
I think Tsukuyomi>Kotoamatsukami. In my personal opinion it’s less raw power but WAY more usage. Imagine a canon ball vs an assault rifle, sure the canon ball can deal more damage but the assault rifle will kill way more. Tsukuyomi could kill high level people like Minato and Hashirama but not people like Madara but you can kill dozens if not hundreds or thousands in those 10 years where Kotoamatsukami kills one.
Is kotoamatsukami really an automatic one shot? I wouldn’t agree with that. And him surviving a surprise attack from danzo (who wasn’t as powerful as when he fought Sauske) isn’t that crazy of a feat. And “kage level” is extremely vague. Mei is kage level, but so is someone like Minato, so we need to be more specific than that. Also, we have actually no idea how strong shisui is because we only saw him in flashbacks. We never really saw him in any CANON material, so to imply that he’s even close to Minato, let alone Madara and hashirama, is actual insanity

Can we talk about how Shisui is the most underused character in the show?
Depends on how you view broken. Kotoamatsukami is super broken but we don’t get activation time (how long it takes to start using it), the Susanoo is pretty solid and it’s Genjutsu can affect Edo Itachi but Mugen Tsukiyomi didn’t affect Edo Hokages.
The truly broken Uchiha ability imo is Kamui. Due to how it bends the plot to its will. Like being the only MS with a perfect Susanoo, six paths boost, incredible speed feats against Kaguya (buffed). You know how Hagoromo comes in the last minute to give Naruto and Sasuke his chakra, here comes Obito pulling the same stunt using his MS like it’s ABC. Hagoromo waited for many years, Obito did it like it was a reflex. Considering the plot retcons Kamui blindness and has it do some pretty crazy stuff, I have it as the number one Busted justu that can pull rabbits from its ass. Like Kamui btw.
Dude had two (2) known fights.
One was against Ao, it’s completely unknown what actually happened but they both walked away alive.
The next was against Danzo, who stole his eye. Shisui then killed himself to prevent Danzo from getting his other eye. Nothing about these would make think this character is “broken”.

Technically it was only Danzo who could use it every 10 years since he’s not an Uchiha, Shisui is implied to be able to use Kotoamatsukami more often

Most overrated character ever. His “MOST OP BROKEN OMNIPOTENT ABILITY THAT CAN ONE SHOT KAGUYA AND ALL THE WORLD” never accomplished anything beside countering Edo Tensei (on someone that wasn’t trying to resist it at all), something that Madara did easily.

SInce people seem to be unable to tell the difference between “most broken” and most powerful are are getting salty af. I was saying because of kotoamatsukami Shisui was the most broken character not the overall most powerful . Clearly if he can’t use this if it’s on cool down he gets wrecked by God tier war arc characters and other kage level characters. As far as people complaining it’s not that strong etc. That’s fine and your opinion but there’s a reason Itachi talks about it the way he does and it’s the only ability in the entire show to have near a cool down like this.

My favorite character is itachi but shisui has the best genjutsu, kotoamatsukami is even more broken than kamui
He can one shot characters with Six Paths power
Sasuke was able to resist the Infinite Tsukuyomi (the strong genjutsu ever used in the series) and that was when he was a teenager. Adult Sasuke, Naruto, and the Otsutsukis are stronger so should be able to resist Kotoamatsukami with zero problem
Aside from his genjutsu he’s not broken at all. His speed isn’t that impressive and he doesn’t have any firepower, meaning he’d get crapped on by guys like Hashirama, Madara, and anyone stronger than them
Every ability has a weakness.
If he’d had a minute more screen time dedicated to anything related to Kotoamatsukami, we’d have heard the weak side of the genjutsu. Chances are we still will, one day, in Boruto. Shisui is overhyped. Powerful, but overhyped.
His jutsu (Kotoamatsukami) is a bit Overrated
It’s often touted as being a super duper awesome brainwashing technique, but all we see of it in canon is
1) Itachi triggering the crow in Naruto to use it on him, changing the orders he needs to follow as an Edo Tensei, and
2) Danzo trying to use it on Mifune, and it failing when Ao merely goes “woah bro there’s a genjutsu on ya.”
Lord only knows that if Shisui tried using it on the Uchiha elders, Tobi would just swing by and go “lol you guys got Kotoamatsukami’d” and make them revolt then and there.
Nothing is broken except your ability to enjoy a story.

His mangekyo ability kotoamatsukami can rewrite reality into a Genjutsu, fucking Reality, plus it’s much stronger than izanami/izanagi, and he can use it twice. Has a cool-down tho, Itachi said 10 years but probably for him since they aren’t his eyes. No one is stopping him if they’re caught in kotoamatsukami.
what about Tsukoyomi mentally breaking people withing half a second.
I think Rinnegan users are unaffected by genjutsu
It can be used more frequently than every 10 years. We only make that assumption bc that how long it was in the crow(crows can’t generate that much chakra) if Shisui woulda lived longer, no doubt he would’ve used it a couple times in the show.

The time limit is def for other people using his eyes. Danzo used it in the five kage summit and had planned to use it against Obito.

Sure, the ability itself is broken. But the drawback of having to wait 10 years, especially when you’re famous/infamous for your abilities, balances this out.
Danzo even managed to reduce the cool down to a day using Hashirama cells and it still couldn’t save his sorry ass in the end.
