Honestly I think just overall the gore elements to it. Like the anime was a lot tamer when it came to blood and gore and I just feel that it made it have less of an impact
Gore and dark stuff censored in anime: Orochimaru lab, Danzo gets squished, Kakashi’s genjutsu on Sakura, Shikamaru’s hand melting, Gaara kills random genins, Zabuza decapitates Gato, Everytime a chidori pierces someone, birds eating the corpse, an amputated hand, Kimimaro’s bone abillity shown his flesh being teared, Neji’s shoulder hole is bigger, Obito’s rage was way more bloody, Ten tails cutting springs had more bodies in the manga, Nagato spat blood instead of drool, Hayate’s corpse was hidden in anime, Gaara tries to cut his veins in manga and in the anime it was just the back of his hand, Kabuto’s kunai goes right through the middle of Naruto’s hand in the manga, Kaiza had his hands cut when he was crucified in the manga, Zaku got his arms blown away by shino. I don’t remember more right now but blood was removed a lot in the anime
Mine is actually in a similar spot. It’s when Tayuya put Shikamaru under a genjutsu. Manga is very very very graphic with that scene
In the Land of Waves. The manga was graphic with a lot.
As the others mentioned, lack of censorship.
But aside from that a lot of times Kishimoto’s stand-out panels didn’t translate well to the anime so a lot of scenes that were legendary in manga felt pretty standard in the anime.
Like look at this [comparison with Obito](https://i.redd.it/681rghp32b6z.png). The anime doesn’t do a poor job but there is a lot that gets lost in translation, especially in the first image.
Any large scale destruction scene. Manga gives way more detail. Anime lowers the scope, which then weakens some of the characters feats.
The manga, especially the chapters where konoha 11 are still 12/13, are ten times more bloody and full of gore
That time Shino fucking blew Zaku’s whole arm off ????. So brutal. But in the anime it just got a little hurt

The entiretly of the manga is better than the anime. The war arc was terribly animated and I feel bad for future watchers who have to bear with hundreds of episodes of flashbacks where nothing happens.
Another is Sasuke vs Garra and Sasuke’s first use if chidori. The manga did it justice. The anime butchered it in my eyes.

Characters look more badass in the manga ,for example hashirama,obito, pain and others…
The manga does a lot better not just the gore aspect but it definitely is one of the highlights and reasons to read it
Mine was when Obito’s face was tearing apart in 4 pieces along side his team’s picture

But the anime just made it look like a chemical burn
I never understood why they remove stuff from the anime if it was in the manga. Unless it’s something extremely hard to animate or nudity, but blood, etc isn’t so why do they do it? A large portion of the fans of the anime will probably be the fans of the manga, who are clearly okay with whatever content the manga had… I can’t imagine anyone having a real big issue with blood in a ninja show where death is quite common.
