  1. I do feel bad for him. He’s got one moment of actual relevance and then Deku throws it away.

“Hey Izuku, this guy can hypnotize you if you answer what he says.”

    “Gotcha!” *answers anyway*

  2. Dont love him, dont hate him. You can say my feelings for him is exactly……..average

  3. Him, sugar guy, and the one who can talk to animals are severely underpowered given how much the plot progress

  4. I was actually specifically paying attention to him on my recent rewatch. He’s actually really sweet and wholesome most of the time, but that’s sort of all he’s ever doing, just being the nice guy in the background.

  5. He’s not interesting enough to spend my time thinking about so I don’t usually get that far. But he is pretty cool

  6. Despite the fact Midoriya was born quirkless, Ojiro still manages to be the plainest man in existence

  7. He is to BNHA what the Karate Kid is to DC Comics. And yes, there is a superhero called that, and he’s from the Legion of Superheroes, which takes place in the 31st century.

  8. I remember in *Heroes Rising* when the scene was shifting to look at the downed 1A classmates, Ojiro was still moving, trying to shake off his pain and get up. When Bakugo and Midoriya were falling after dealing their final attack against Nine, I really hoped Ojiro was gonna rush in and catch them 🙁

    but nope.

  9. I like his character. He’s got such a simple yet useful power and can perform martial arts with it. Plus I think the ship with him and Hagakure is very cute

  10. There needs to be characters like him to appreciate the good ones. Like you can’t appreciate the light without the dark

  11. A little bit but that’s kind of his whole schtick. Honestly I think he’s a pretty decent joke character

  12. His main appeals are his relationship with Hagakure and how he can move around like Tigger

  13. The Heroes Rising movie actually made me appreciate and like him a lot more for some reason, wish he did more in the main series.

  14. I wonder if horikoshi had plans for all the students when creating them. Then just never got to some of them or was unable to fit them in so they are just kinda there. Shoji, Hagakure, Sato, Ojiro, Sero, and Koda are the most ignored. Its always weird to me thought because its fine to have extra characters in the class like them, but the show constantly reminds you about them and their names/quirks all the time that you think that they’d at least get a bit of spotlight.

  15. Nope, He’s a great hero and he knows his abilities. I think he’s easy going and smart.

He is very well balanced personality and strength but most people think that doesn’t make for good/exciting/explosive stories.

  16. He’s almost the answer to the question “can you be a super hero, and quirkless?”

He got into the school, he honed his skills around his limited quirk, he, like Midoria pre OFA, is analytical and tries to take advantage situations through sheer strategy.

Or at least that’s how I would’ve wrote him if I gave him the representation he deserved. So many underutilized characters with interesting concepts, and we hardly get to see any of them fully realized.

  17. I’m of the full opinion that you could eliminate 1/3 of 1-A and not much would change. I love this series and mostly say this in jest, but man some of those students should probably just give up when you look at the competition. Become sidekicks or something

  18. His own classmates are low key prejudiced against him for having too ordinary a quirk. That’s messed up. At least he can’t loose all his fighting ability if he fights someone with the ability to take his quirk away, like eraserhead.

  19. I just feel bad that he hasn’t even achieved Super Saiyan yet. Seriously where is his damn pride.

  20. Everyone always jokingly makes fun of him for being ordinary lmao, in both canon and in the fandom. Even in the latest light novel. At least he’s more popular in the East.

  21. I think it’s inevitable in a class of 20 with a defined main character set, teachers, other classes, villains, etc, that some people are going to be overlooked and not have as much character development as you’d like. You could probably also throw Koda, Shoji, and Sato into that group.

  22. His tail quirk is very limited and probably makes it hard to sit in a chair, though does have potential against an overpowering opponent for a great story, problem would be it has to be a muscle through it story

  23. Sometimes I do like didn’t he get his ass kicked in the group training with 1B? He’s nice though and thoughtful and I think he’ll accomplish his goals. You gotta have at least a couple ‘normal’ people even in a super-powered world.

  24. I saw a Youtube comment point out that in the scene where Ojiro is showing everyone his room and they remark “it’s so plain!!” his tail lowers sadly. Just made me feel bad lol

  25. I legit don’t understand how “I have a tail” is enough of a super power to become a pro-hero but “I have no powers but I lift a lot” isn’t.

  26. Ojiro is definitely in my top 10 favorites, even though he doesn’t really do anything. I feel that Horikoshi should give special moments to those side characters in 1-A, since they don’t get much screen time. Ojiro, Sato, Hagakure, Shoji, Sato, Koda, and even Sero are severely underrated.

  27. Dude is kinda pointless. There HAD to be somebody better than him in the entrance exams and yet he made it..
