I opened a demo for my store and tried it out with my 8 year old.
The game has some of the good modern card game ideas. Deku and Bakago’s abilities feel like their characters (huge damage but you figuratively lose your hand of cards, Bakago gets bonuses if you attack multiple times in one aggressively).
The blocking is a bit counter-intuitive at first and takes getting used to.
I like the lack of extra components needed but you may still need dice to keep track of -/+ speed and -/+ damage when things get complicated.
The text on foundations is small so I had to constant lean to read the upside down text, no symbols for fast board reading.
