  1. My white teacher would read the book to us quietly… then shout the n word every time it came up

  2. When we read of mice and men she actually didn’t say it… my teacher said “now I’m gonna leave the text in there but there is no need to say it so I’m just going to skip over it” then some kid in the hall screamed “o I can say it” and just screemed ni99a at the top of his lungs

  3. We read Huckleberry Finn out loud in class, we just had a talk about the word before hand, then we just said it out loud in class if it was our turn to read. Great book tbh

  4. back when our teacher used to make us read aloud, I started randomly inserting the word “sack” into the reading. It caught on and all the rest of the boys in class did it. Hilarity ensued.. especially watching our teachers reaction.

  5. I was in a Masters level English class and we reading sections of Howl – this was mine:

who let themselves be fucked in the ass by saintly motorcyclists, and screamed with joy,

who blew and were blown by those human seraphim, the sailors, caresses of Atlantic and Caribbean love,

who balled in the morning in the evenings in rosegardens and the grass of public parks and cemeteries

and I’d rather read THAT than the N word any day of any week

  6. My teacher doesn’t have us read it aloud and won’t say it, I just want to say it because haha funny

  7. I literally just got the book today for my class, we are gonna start reading it tomorrow lol

  8. Man when I read that in class I just went “n-mmmm.” And cleared my throat loudly and moved on lol

  9. Fuck I remember me and my Bois were in class and the teacher was using audio books and no one can help but laugh

  10. My teacher read that book in class and bc i live in south africa, only three people (including me and the teacher) were white in a class of 40.
