Scarlet Witch would easily be high on the list of best MCU baddies if she’s indeed a villain in MoM. Could she crack the top 5?
I still think it is rather ballsy for Disney to make a widowed childless mother the villain of a movie abbreviated to MoM and releases mother’s day weekend.
She did already take a whole town hostage and put them through pretty horrendous mental torture.
Whether it was intentional or not, and whether it was just a primal trauma response or not, there’s probably enough there to consider herself as a (conflicted) villain – at least she clearly is to the people of Westview.
I think she’ll definitely go full villain and will probably be my all time favourite MCU villain. I do think she’ll probably get some rehabilitation though, and maybe shift into more mutants territories than Avengers in future projects. Or perhaps carve her own section of the MCU like Iron Man, Cap and Thor
If she goes full villain mode, she’ll probably take the top spot for me. I’m just in love with tragic heroes turning villains in general, especially when the turn is long earned.

Seriously, a sympathetic villain is the best angle for Wanda’s character. The fan response speaks for itself, since her turn in WandaVision she feels like she’s a few years away from hitting Evans and Downey levels of recognition… she’s one of the only Marvel protagonists other than Loki who’s been able to dabble in villainy and I for one love it, especially because while Loki’s journey is more a focus on redemption, hers is descent (into villainy)
First of all, there’s Hela, an actual straight up villain, who is nowhere in this list for some reason.
Don’t think its that easy and straight up. Marvel is really going full force on grey and complex characters. Despite the details the fandom still chooses to make it black and white and view her as a straight up villain in Wandavision. The fandom is NOT ready for complex characters and I genuinely worry abt how the future characters would be perceived.
Watch people justify Moon Knight despite whatever things he’s going to be doing bcz he is ‘cool’. For the record I love moony but some fucked up shit is defo coming.
Once Kang arrives, Thanos’s big rectangle’s going to start looking like a tic-tac.

This may or may not be a hot take, idc; Imo Ego would be on this list too since he’s a rogue celestial who started seeding planets for selfish reasons rather than the reason Arishem gave in Eternals
She’s already been a hero for like 10 years tho, regardless of her being wanted by multiple authorities around the world. I think she will be redeemed one day either way and she won’t be seen as a villain. That would be like calling Iron Man the villain of Civil War.
I doubt shell become a permanent villain if she becomes a baddie at all.
As long as they make it a proper transition from hero to villain, one that makes logical sense and not just “I don’t like the things you’ve done now I am bad” kind of transition

There is a story in the comics where Scarlet Witch remakes all of reality. Including the structure and history of the planet.
If they let her go that route, she could literally be the most powerful villain the MCU has ever seen.
I think she’d be a Loki-like villain.
She’s been in 4 movies so far and had a miniseries dedicated to her. She’s had some very thorough character development devoted to her. Even as a villain, I think she’d be a very sympathetic villain who many people (likely myself included) support
Where Ultron ?
She nearly literally tore Thanos limb from limb (and I think she was kind of taking her time with him). If she goes full-baddy and doesn’t have her powers nerfed then yes.
I’m sorry, I dont’like the route they’re going with her…For most of her comic history she’s been an Avenger and a hero. She’s a classic Avenger. But because of House of M people think she’s mostly a tragic anti hero who’s mentally unstable and a ticking time bomb. But there’s more to her than that. But House of M gave her that reputation and now people think that she’s always like that and that she’s always on the verge of causing destruction
I personally really liked Wenwu as an antagonist

Easily, at least in terms of power. She’s definetely top 3 if not the first. She easily handled Thanos and can most likely handle Strange and Captain Marvel with her insane magic.

I think she’s more of a wild card at best than just a straight up antagonist
Where’s Ultron? Sure, he’s divisive, but What If really boosted his appeal. I’ve noticed more and more people over the years think that Killmonger and Mysterio aren’t great or at least not as much as originally thought
The ones I know for certain who are top 5 villains of the MCU are Loki, Thanos, Goblin. Wenwu is possibly up there. Phase 4 in the more recent months (Shang Chi, What If, NWH) has been doing well with villains so I’m thinking and hoping that the streak will continue and Scarlet Witch can get to the top 5
She’s a nexus being who is absolutely insanely powerful. If they pull it off she could dwarf all of them
Given the Netflix shows, I definitely think Kingpin and Killgrave deserve to be on that list.
