Big sandman fan, I’m totally cool with this. It keeps the important elements, and mostly just looks like a wrestler got cast in the role (facial hair, tattoos).
The Penny tattoo for his daughter is an excellent detail. I love it.
I immediately asked myself how he got inked, since he doesn’t really have skin like a normal person. Then it occurred to me that he can probably control the shade of the “sand” he’s comprised of, and just doesn’t know it yet. Perhaps it’s something he learns down the line.
This a future Sandman: much more dangerous, as he now knows how to camouflage himself and adapt to his environment. The tattoos are something he’s designed and implemented with a thought, and can be modified at will, which he does regularly. The only one that never changes is Penny’s.
Huh, something I’ve never thought about, can Sandman actually change his colors at will? Or can he only return to the colors he was before becoming Sandman? Because if its the former he could just like change his arms to have any tattoos he wants whenever he wants. Shapeshift with ease. Even have living tattoos that move around and stuff. Your art has given me many thoughts. Also your art is amazing, the mutton chops are a great choice for him! And the tattoos as well! Gives me vibes of the Spectacular Spider-Man’s Sandman if that show was allowed to go a little darker.
