Hobbits are probably getting some mad respect in the spider community. First Bilbo is invisible and just stabbing spiders in large supply to save the dwarves, then here comes Sam to keep the reputation alive. I wonder if Shelob heard rumors of a little one laying havoc with Sting and then encounters the blade from Frodo.
*But Shelob was not as dragons are, no softer spot had she save only her eyes. Knobbed and pitted with corruption was her age-old hide, but ever thickened from within with layer on layer of evil growth. The blade scored it with a dreadful gash, but those hideous folds could not be pierced by any strength of men, not though Elf or Dwarf should forge the steel or the hand of Beren or of Túrin wield it. She yielded to the stroke, and then heaved up the great bag of her belly high above Sam’s head. Poison frothed and bubbled from the wound. Now splaying her legs she drove her huge bulk down on him again. Too soon. For Sam still stood upon his feet, and dropping his own sword, with both hands he held the elven-blade point upwards, fending off that ghastly roof; and so Shelob, with the driving force of her own cruel will, with strength greater than any warrior’s hand, thrust herself upon a bitter spike. Deep, deep it pricked, as Sam was crushed slowly to the ground.*
Sam (with assistance from Shelob herself) does what even Beren or Turin, heroes of old, could not. This alone, the rest of his contributions to the destruction of the Ring aside, would put him in elf songs
Now that’s not true… Shelob heard everything the orcs said about her and it really hurt her feelings. It’s hard enough being a giant spider with no friends!
Does Sam realize the gravity of what he accomplished? Does he know he wounded an ancient creature so powerful she gives Sauron pause or does he think he just fought a really big spider?

I love that a universal theme in Middle Earth is to never underestimate a hobbit.
Hobbits are literally the most dangerous creatures in Middle Earth. Its lucky for everyone else that all they want to do is garden and smoke weed.
Now that’s not true… Shelob heard everything the orcs said about her and it really hurt her feelings. It’s hard enough being a giant spider with no friends!
Spi-de-rs slash them, stab them, blind them.
Absolute chad
Chadwise Gamgee
Sheesh I actually didn’t know that, extra respect for that one
1. Ever wounded shelob
2. Carried the ring and gave it up willingly
3. Killed 2 orcs with a frying pan
Did anyone ever fight Shelob that wasn’t Sam?
Not only that, but wounds her enough where even JRR Tolkien doesn’t know if she is still alive.
“What are you gonna do, stab me?” – Quote from Demon Spider Stabbed
Unless you count the game Middle Earth: Shadow of War which as I understand most people don’t.
Samwise “the based” Gamgee
Does Sam realize the gravity of what he accomplished? Does he know he wounded an ancient creature so powerful she gives Sauron pause or does he think he just fought a really big spider?
Mostly because she hid in a cave for ages on end. It’s not like she was out picking fights with many people.
Didn’t Shelob have a lot of old scars?
She wounded herself on his blade. He does get marks for positioning tho
This image is Fellowship at 99% strength
Talion was going to pierce her with different sword. HEY OH.
I hurt her feelings in Shadow of War.
“Remains”? Are people still having a go at it?
Until Raid is invented and my wife met her
Idk about the book version but i feel like every elf could easily kill shelob we saw in the movie
