About a year ago I was walking out of my house and my neighbor 2 doors down yelled what I heard was “hey can you help me for a sec there’s a turtle stuck in my fence” but she was far away so I thought to myself that’s obviously not what she said. Walked over to the opposite side of her house and sure as shit there was a pissed off snapping turtle hanging by 1 leg from a chain link fence. It had climbed all the way to the top and then got stuck flipping over the other side. Learned turtles climb that day.
Box turtles well climb a screen door. I used to have a bunch as pets back when you’d see several on any road trip, I’d make my dad stop so I could rescue every one from being run over. When letting them crawl around in our screened in porch they would often do so
