I’ve asked my boss after I’ve been working for her for a long time why she asked that kind of question.
She said it’s because everyone knows you’re working for money. But what they’re looking for is what makes you think you chose them over other places, so they wanted you to list out the staff benefits (training, pension, insurance, friendly workplace, etc). Because if you just say “money”, then there’s no stopping you from jumping ships just a few months for a higher pay, and they’ll waste time training you and doing your paperwork.
“Sorry, we dont hire honest people. Come back with a rehearsed and perfectly staged answer to this common interview question.”
You want to be able to buy food, how dare you?
We don’t do that here

Yall get benefits?
How is that a holup?
What do you mean you want a decent pay and benefits i thought $9 – $15 minimum wage was more than enough to survive off of
But after saying benefits you whip out a 10 inch dick, saying benefits again slowly while making eyecontact.
