This is so sad. In my birth family the men all treat their sons with scorn and belittle everything they do, but the daughters are given affection and support. My brother’s son and his wife decided against having children…I was hoping they might break the cycle. Thankfully, the family I married into is 100% non-toxic.

Try having both parents, and your deceased grandfather call you a disappointment. Also still-living grandmother
My Dad has never called me a disappointment but I can tell that he thinks that I am but that is ok cause he was a terrible father.
