Just use the bingo method, where the dm rolls 3d6 36 times and puts it into a 6×6 and each player chooses one collum, row, or diagonal.

6d4, re-roll 1’s and 4’s, drop the lowest, add 4 to one of your choice.

My favorite is similar, 2d8+3. Average is 12, but typically people end up with one to three high stats, two or three mid stats, and one low stat. We’ve done 2d8+2 as well, only one person has been unfortunate enough to get a 4.

First player tried it and ended up with 18-18-11-10-7-3 and we decided to keep it.
Player two rolled 19-19-19-19-17-6. He’d already rolled the 4d6 option and was doing it for fun, but I still had to put my foot down and say absolutely not
