1. I assume you’re asking this in relation to Granolah and everything, but the simplest answer is yes, because they’re two different dragons with two different abilities. In the same way that Shenlong cannot revive the same person more than once, while Porunga can, Shenlong’s not able to make someone strong like that, while Toronbo can.

2. Different Dragons have different rules. For example, initially before Dende upgraded Earth’s Dragonballs not only did Namekian Dragonballs have 3 wishes, but you could wish someone back as many times as you wanted, but you couldn’t wish more than one person back at a time whereas before the upgrade you were able to be brought back one time as long as it wasn’t because of natural causes and after the upgrade you can wish back billions of souls at once as many times as needed.
Shenron nor Porunga can grant the wish that The Cerealian Dragon Toronbo can, but it comes at a price. Then you have Super Shenron who quite literally has limitless wish granting potential and would easily be able to make that wish happen without any consequences.

3. But didn’t the dragon ball in granolah’s planet didn’t really made him the strongest? I thought the dragon only gave him all of his potential if he train nonstop thus, shortening his lifespan to 3 years?

And I think the same thing happened to gas.

4. They are talking about Earth’s Shenron. Not Planet Cerials Shenron. Also keep in mind Granolahs wish came 3 years after the Broly Movie came out In real life. They hadn’t thought up the current arc at that point. Also if you remember from DBZ, Purunga [Nameks Shenron] can make more wishes and is more powerful then Earth’s Shenron. That should be proof enough that not all dragons work the same in Dragonball

5. Answer: Shin claimed that there are 9 planets with sentient species in the Universe. Then Moro arc and he’s eating countless planets.

So basically internal consistency never was strong side of this series. Just stop thinking about it, it will be easier.

6. This is because they never plan anything in advance OR its an incredible bit of foreshadowing. I’m leaving with the first option

Its a different dragon and the namekian who created them could have been super powerful. Wont matter anyway as Monaito will die in the arc and the dragon will gone after this arc

7. Its been established for years that different dragons have different rules. Monaitos dragon gives you an incredible amount of power, but it comes at the cost of severely limiting your lifespan. Maybe its something like HunterxHunter where it gives you the total amount of power you will ever generate in a short timespan.

8. This isn’t quite right. Toronbo condensed all the power Granolah would gain in his life into one moment in exchange for those years. It wasn’t just “most powerful in the universe.”

Arguably, kid Goku could have made the same wish and become Blue way back with their first wish. We haven’t Shenlong asked, so he may give them a different answer. I think it’s hard to know.

9. I can’t get over how much I hate this idea.

Spoiler:

>!It’s so cheap and kind of makes everyone’s hard work obsolete. “Oh, you mastered Ultra Instinct, which is even feared by the gods? Oh well, I’ll simply wish myself to become stronger than you.” Such an anti-climax.!<

10. Well, Goku here doesn’t know that there is a dragon that is able to grant such wish so he’s just telling what he knows.

Also, concept of Toronbo wasn’t probably around at this time yet.

11. Wishing for being strongest in the universe is way different than doing that to become strongest mortal in the universe.

Yes,dragons of different planets are different in terms of power but let’s not forget that likes of Beerus and Whis are taken out of equation in second case (same as one in Granolah arc)

12. If memory serves its dependent on the creator of said balls if they are op the wishes can be too which is why the super balls are op cause their creator is the God who is I think even more powerful than Zeno because he can reverse Zeno’s finger snap

13. I thought it was Shen(R)on? Why is it “long” now? Seems stupid.

Edit: I had no idea it was that all along. I only thought it was stupid if they changed it. If that’s what it was supposed to be I ain’t mad. Shenron sounds so much better to me but that’s probably just because I’m used to it. Shenlong sounds too much like a porn star name.

14. I think the Super Dragon balls can make you stronger and just a theory can probably make you even stronger than the Angels if you wanted as it’s stated to have no limitations and downsides the problem is how you can obtain them as they are Planet sized and 2 universes apart when scattered.

15. Imagine there was some guy whose only goal was to commit suicide and take everyone with him. He just finds that dragon, becomes most powerful in the universe in exchange for almost all of their remaining life force, abd then just busts the universe

16. In the English dub anime, this was addressed way back in DBZ’s Saiyan Saga. The Gang summoned him to revive Goku and Oolong asked Shenron if he could stop the Saiyans via a wish, but Shenron said he cannot grant a wish that would suprass the power of his creator (Kami).

17. this is still true, the dragon literally said thats beyond his power, the dragon only gave him all of his potential if he train nonstop with the cost of his life

it didnt really give him power out of nowhere

18. I think it only worked in the current arc because the characters have the “potential” to be the strongest. The dragon just pulled a monkeys paw to do it. Basically kind of like what Gon did in Hunter X Hunter.

19. We know that Granolah sacrificed his lifespan to become as strong as he was, but Gas is still a mystery. I feel like whatever sacrifice he made to the dragon will be the key to defeating him.

20. No, because (Spoiler incoming)

Granolah had actually wished to become the strongest in the universe. Though it may not be the Shenlong of earth or Porunga of namek, I believe the same rules apply.

21. It’s true. As it stands right now, Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and most of the heavy hitters of Universe 7 are vastly more powerful than Shenron. Beerus is confirmed to be stronger than Shenron already, and the first three mentioned aren’t that far behind him. While they don’t have the same level of control and utility with their power, they could still easily curb-stomp Shenron if they came to blows. This means that Shenron physically cannot make any of them stronger than they are since they already vastly outclass him in terms of power.
