  1. No.

I think, based off a one-sentence summary of a movie years from production that didn’t even *hint* at a plot, that they’re setting up a crossover between the DC, Looney Tunes, and Criminal Minds universes. And there’s just as much evidence of that as there is of Final Crisis or any of the other low-effort movie fanfic people have been posting constantly.

  2. Actually I think he might be building up to the Center from New Frontier being the villain. He did put a video of Cooke’s NF in one of his IG stories.

I suspect Gunn will do his own take on ‘Whats So Funny About Truth and Justice’ but with the actual Authority this time. He will have Superman refute them like the latter did Manchester Black and the Ultra Marine Corps from Morrison’s run. But it will be done in a way that leaves the Authority still useable in the future since Gunn also loves his anti heroes. Later we get Superman leading the Authority like Morrison did.

  3. I don’t think it’s a bad idea.

I think major elements of Final Crisis will be the overall plot across the phases. I think that was the best version of the Anti-Life equation we’ve seen in comics that would translate to film super well. It’s a unique thing Marvel can’t replicate without being a blatant ripoff either.

Would it be Orion, with monitors, and the bleed, and Death of the New Gods – probably not.

But having Hal and John investigate an Omega level case where someone important is murdered on Earth, and that investigation kicks off the large threat is a very realistic idea. Could be a Guardian is murdered. Could be a New God. Could be Black Hand related for all we know and I’m totally off.

  4. This is the issue with DC Movies. People keep trying to push for Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame without sitting through Phase 1 and 2.

I love Final Crisis, but it is VERY complicated. It’s endgame level kind of thing, not meant to be put at the start of anything.

And you can’t do a Final Crisis adaptation without the New Gods.

Furthermore, I don’t think a Final Crisis adaptation is actually possible. It is one of those things that is simply inexplicably tied to the very medium of comics that makes it extremely difficult or legitimately impossible to adapt.
