[Film/TV] I personally hope that Robert Pattinson’s version of Batman and the rest of his version of Gotham are incorporated into the New DCU
What frustrates me is how easy it would be to do this. Could’ve started from the Joker, but that one cameo threw that out the window,. ANYWAY.
I remember some Marvel execs (writers? I can’t remember) being asked in an interview: How would you catch DC up to Marvel? Their answer was ‘Set out to make one good movie. The rest will follow.’ Sound condescending? Sure. BUT!
The Batman wasn’t just a good movie. It was a game changer. Battinson is absolutely the loner (possibly xenophobic) detective rookie version of Batman that would absolutely have a hard time accepting Superman into his world. Not just that, but they kept the story so small that it absolutely has room to grow and step outside Gotham.
In my opinion, it would be a mistake to keep this version of Bats out of the new DCU.
This one is too tied into it’s own vision that I can’t envision it as being in the same world as someone on Superman’s level.
Like a little more sci-fi elements in this universe is fine, but this movies has a very particular director’s feel that is more suited for its own universe.
