  1. It’s cute, but I’m not a fan of how it dominates a lot of their stories.

They need to be more than just a couple, I want to see them be 3 dimensional around each other.

  2. I’m a huge fan of Harley being with someone other than the Joker, I just wish it wasn’t Ivy.
In my opinion an interesting part of Ivy’s character was her detachment from humanity.

  3. Love it! I love how it works its way into both of their arcs, helps it feel very natural and not so forced. Harley struggled with her individuality and sense of self while under Joker, and Ivy’s girl power no-nonsense attitude partially helped Harley realize she could be more than just Joker’s punching bag. Then Harley becoming the one person Ivy cared about really pushed her to be a more 3-dimensional character. It’s hard for her to hate all of humanity when theres one person she loves more than anyone else. The new Ivy run is FANTASTIC exactly for this reason, and none of it would be possible without Harley. As characters they’re great seperate but amazing together, and I wish DC would just commit to them being together in the comics already! Some people think that them being together reduces Ivy to just “Harley’s girlfriend” or Harley to just “Ivy’s girlfriend” but this has almost never been an issue for other characters tbh. Does Selina just become “Batman’s girlfriend” when they’re together? Of course not. When the writing is sharp this is a non-issue that people blow out of proportion. The only real issue is that it leaves Batman pretty short on real female antagonists, but I think that’s what Punchline is for right?

  4. I am fine with it. I do think Harley is bi and not an out and out lesbian though. As for Ivy, I’m fine with it. I don’t see her as much of a people person anyways. She always had a connection with Harley though, so I can understand why she would want to be with her.

  5. I like it! Much less toxic than Joker+Harley (…uh, not counting any weird plant toxin stuff Ivy has going on lol).

Howeverrrrr I will say that I prefer HarlIvy as a villain power couple. I’m not a fan of the Harley redemption arc— like yeah I get that people can change, but “people can change” is like, “I used to be prejudiced and now I’m not” and not “I am magically no longer a sociopath.”

  6. I preferred it as more of a sisters kind of thing, they had that kind of “odd couple” vibe going.
It also would have allowed having an occasional love interest for either of them, which could have been bounced off of each other in a comedic/dramatic/ whatever effect for some kind of story. Then again, I’m not the writer so it’s not my call.

  7. It’s cute and there’s some good moments, but I do think in doing so it takes away Ivy as Batman’s only real big female villain, sure you can say the same for Catwoman being with Bruce but at least there Selina has been an anti hero for far longer.

  8. I could write an entire essay on why i love this couple, and it seeping into other works (like knights of steel), it brings out the best of both characters and also shows in a more natural light how both have issues.
