  1. This depiction of Joe is closer to the “Mr. Hyde” motif found in the original Hulk stories. He wasn’t supposed to be likable, but people wound up liking him anyways and that’s why he’s softer and more chill nowadays.

  2. A great part of Peter David’s run is that his Hulk was very morally ambiguous. Even in his later Professor and… Green Scar?… incarnations, he still makes questionable moral choices.
