Anyone else see the headline and the art and conclude that Spidey and Hulk were stomping Jack Kirby to death?
Weird the photo has Spider-Man. Regardless of the argument of how much credit Kirby deserved for the creation of Spider-Man, there were so many other characters to pull from and use in this image just to avoid that debate.
Though my guess is the photo is from someone at the paper who grabbed a picture to go with the obit, looking for anything with superheroes and just lucked into choosing Marvel heroes instead of Batman or Superman.

nipple less hulk strikes again. so many hulk drawings from the seventies and eighties without nipples. conan as well. every once in a while you would see them, and then they would apparently get sucked back inside from the gamma radiation.
Your uncle is awesome for saving that. It’s definitely a piece of comic history. Jack Kirby’s contributions can not be overstated and his legacy has only gotten stronger since his passing.
