I love how the comment tuned down on the actual patheticness of the scene by conveniently taking out the “No I don’t want that!” and rephrasing the rest 💀
I’m confident Isayama meant it as a comedic scene to lighten the dark mood, while also assuring the audiences of Erens feelings for Mikasa. Seeing people quote the line as something deep and meaningful is pretty funny.
I’m gonna be downvoted but I honestly find the situation(not necessarily the line) to be tragic.
I mean, it’s as stated in the chapter. Eren wants to be able to live and be with the people he cares about, but for the sake of the plan and simply the fact that he can never atone for what he’s done, he has to die.
The whole “Don’t want Mikasa to move on” is another thing imo. But regardless of it, how you interpret it, Eren definitely wanted to be with his friends. It’s not just some badly written romance that’s the reason he didn’t want to die.
Yeah it was so tragically bad
Whenever something slightly unpleasant/ annoying happens to me: “NoOo I dOnT wAaAnt ThAt!! FoR tEn YeArS aT lEaSt!“
Thx Yams, for turning my favorite story into a meme machine 😍
Eren did not want Mikasa to find someone else, but he did not mention that he would be faithful to her
What?? history got impregnated by a random bully from her childhood is fvcking tragic, not as tragic as EM love story, but that’s still tragic…
How is it not tragic? It’s the murder of a decently written character.
I guess some ppl don’t know what good writing looks like
No I dont want that!
The person’s pfp who replied to that comment doesn’t help even a single bit 😂
Thanks God, the replies to this comment were sane, even i replied there..lol
