  1. What makes this moment retroactively awful is that Eren is supposedly lying here.

Based on the invaderzz video, which so many people take as gospel nowadays, Eren fully knew by this exact point when he gained the Founding Titan’s power, that he was inevitably going to be stopped. So, by this point, he had altered his goals slightly from committing complete genocide to achieve freedom to committing 80% genocide so he wouldn’t end up killing his friends.

That means that Eren in this moment is outright lying.

To add injury to insult, we had no idea what Eren’s true intentions were for 30 chapters prior to this moment. We could theorize, there were hypotheses and predictions, but we had no clear indication as to what Eren wanted or what he was going to do. His motivations being shrouded in mystery were central to the intrigue of the time skip.

And then we get this. An explicitly clear message of what Eren intends to do, after thirty chapters of not knowing. He states his intentions, his objective, and he has the means to follow through. So obviously the audience would believe this is his big reveal.

    But… nope. It’s a lie.

  2. 100% agree

I wish he just mentioned some details about ambiguous parts and ended the story there

But NO NO NO! THE NUMBER OF CHAPTERS HAS TO BE 139!

  3. I just wish that Isayama fleshed out post-timeskip more, it really just felt like our pre-timeskip characters completely stopped developing and the plot just sort of happened. Like I have no issue with alliance stopping the rumbling (I don’t even really have an issue with Eren making it happen so that he gets stopped) but it didn’t feel like anyone was developed in post-timeskip to do what they did.

  4. Why did Eren broadcast that “I’m doing the Rumbling because of Paradis”

If Eren wanted to make the possibility of world peace more successful amongst the 20% of survivors, he should have taken full blame for the Rumbling and make clear that Paradis island had absolutely NOTHING to do with the attack.

All this genius did was further cement the fact that the island was collectively responsible for the genocide, and should be carpet bombed out of existence as retaliation. Oops!

  5. This was last scene for me
After this aot wasn’t perfect anymore

He should have just done 100% and then had rumbling after effects and eren death scene …

    Perfect end
