Serious question. Why didn’t the Avengers get lynched by the Yaegerist mobs after returning black to Paradis? Realistically they should be pissed

  1. guessing historia made sure nothing happened to them. pretty sure they didn’t live there besides mikasa, though. peace ambassador squad visiting eren’s grave was written like a little vacation lol. and levi / falbi clearly didn’t seem to go back there since they had 0 reason to.

  2. If you want be realistic and make sense, then we can go further. Once the rumbling had stopped, the outside world would have hated eldians 10x more. Remember other countries are untouched and are more racist towards Eldians. What’s more realistic? Them believing those Eldian heroes that stopped doomsday through word of mouth(only a select Marleyan saw the battle) or take action so the rumbling won’t happen again? There would be an ethnic cleansing. All of the Eldians outside Paradis would be killed. The remaining 20 percent would have united and immediately retaliated, burning Paradis to the ground.

  3. I always pictured everyone on the ship disembarking and immediately being arrested for war crimes. With a trial featuring victim’s families and everything. It’s realistic.

Historia may have written to them and looked after that some of their family members, that doesn’t ensure anything towards the alliance’s safety, especially the warriors. She’s essentially a Yeagarist too. She allowed Eren’s plan to occur in favor of saving her people, and still heads the government that is all Yeagarists.

The only ones we see around on the island already are Mikasa, Levi, Gabi and Falco. I can see the Ackermans pardoned for their service throughout the years (levi is a legend even before the series) and the kids let off because they’re kids. It’s very different from the marleyean warriors who infiltrated the island and have been killing civilians and scouts for all of seasons 1-4.

  4. Any of them should’ve been killed the moment they set foot on the island.

We have to assume that Mikasa came back with Eren’s head (somehow, because they were in the middle of nowhere and everything between them and the island was a complete wasteland after the rumbling) and the people of Paradis were like *”okay, this doesn’t look suspicious at all”*

  5. More like why would you send them as ambassadors? That’s like Russia sending Snowden to negotiate with Biden. Note that I like Snowden, but politically he *is* a traitor to the US.

Ambassadors are meant to be as unprovoking as possible. Should we nominate Trump as ambassador to China?

  6. Historia guaranteed their protection. In the end, Historia’s only role was ensuring that the Alliance was able to live their long lives as Eren wanted :/

  7. I always thought about this, in the manga they appear to be heroes for the world and yet in reality they would have been riddled by the yagerists on the island and hated by the nations that survived.

  8. This was one of the many reasons why it seemed like the alliance was making a one way trip. The Yeagerists now rule Paradis, so why would they allow the alliance to return after the port blood bath? If that wasn’t enough, the alliance killing the island’s last hope to achieve freedom wouldn’t be looked at too kindly either.

The people of Paradis weren’t horrified at the rumbling, they were **happy** to finally be free. They thought the previous government (that the Yeagerists overthrew) was incompetent. Hell, they rejoiced when Zackley’s mangled corpse landed in front of them.

It’s absolutely ludicrous that the alliance was allowed to return. Historia is only one person who reasonably can’t protect the alliance and their families. Especially at how often coups happen on Paradis, it would only be a matter of time before a brown shirt off’d the alliance. Everyone in the old government who wasn’t on board with the Yeagerists was killed, but we’re meant to believe they would leave the alliance alone? Riiight.

  9. Cringevengers: Hey Yalll!!!???????????? We saved the world!!????????????

People on the island: You mean all them folks who want us dead?????

Cringevengers: Yepppp!!! Genocide is wrong so we had to do it! We’re sure they’ll listen to our strong and passionate words!!????????❤️❤️

  10. They were off the Island. The yeagerists were more preoccupied with establishing an Army to focus on tracking down the Avengers in Marley. If the avengers were sought out, it likely would’ve led to peace talks being ruined and Paradis getting bombed af earlier.

  11. Someone’s projecting

In all seriousness though, I think it’s mostly for the fact that the rumbling is too catastrophic of an event to even care about that anymore. And I think a lot of citizens were starting to think “maybe the rumbling wasn’t such a good idea anymore” and we can see that in episodes like Sunset.

  12. The rumbling was already stopped so they probably didn’t see any gain in killing the people who were supposed to be the ‘heroes’ to the rest of the world thanks to the dumbass Lelouche attempt.
